| Onderwerp: | Shipping Computer from AMS to Toronto |
| Bericht: | I have a computer set (case, tft, keyb, mouse, lots of disks) to ship from AMS to Toronto along with books and some personal effects. What about the customs duty on it? Am i expected to pay tax on these things? Since you guys dont deliver at home, what is the procedure like to receive the product on the other end? Also how about the payment? Can cash payment be made to you before leaving? My computer is very very fragile, its pexiglass case. What is special that i can do to pack it since it did not come in its original box but i build it myself. Can i wrap it all with a shipping bag and clothes all around it and then put it in a box? Should i add books around it to make the walls more secure? I especially am looking for the shipment to be very smooth since i dont like those baggage ramps that the luggage travels at airport and sldies down a steep case. I am also considering buying a suitcase and packing my computer's case in it! What should i do? |

| Dear Serenity, On used personal items, usually no tax will be levied. You may find more information on the website of Canadian customs: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/ . All local charges in Canda - terminal fee - if payable tax/duties must be paid locally in Canada . With regard to packing, read the packing instructions on this website. You have to pack yourself in such a way that the goods are protected during the journey. The airline is responsible in case of damage, however if at arrival you notice inside damage, but the packing is in tact, the airline will not accept liability. Also read our pages about liability and damage. Best regards, Ybo Wordlwide Baggage Services |
